| This New Guinea Turn-Of-The-Century Canoe Prow is a striking wooden piece from the Sepik River in New Guinea and dates c.a.1920. It measures 20" in length, 8"in width, and 3"inches at the widest. It is a clan symbol used by the boat people to represent their particular tribe. Due to the extreme tropical climate of New Guinea it is rare to find a wooden artifact in this beautifully preserved condition. It is a visually powerful piece and would display well on the wall of a hunter's alcove or in a lighted case. | ||
