Sencha Kiji Porcelain Ryoro Dai by Seifu Yohei III
A yellow porcelain stand for a sencha green tea brazier by Seifu Yohei III enclosed in a signed wooden box. The piece is 12.5 cm square, signed underneath and includes the original stamped wrapping cloth. Seifu, unlike many potters of the time, was low production and tenacious in approach. The third generation head of the family (d. 1914) was honored as the first ceramic artist to become a member of the Imperial Art Academy (Teishitsu Gigei-In).
