A stunning Haisen-bowl of polished black lacquered ground with a red shunkei rim covered in blossoming vegetation, Shidare Sakura (weeping cherry blossoms), Botan (peony), kiku (Chrysanthemum) and hagi (Bush Clover). All rendered with superb craftsmanship and design in silver and gold powders. The bowl is 6 inches (15 cm) diameter, 3-1/2 inches (9 cm) tall and in excellent condition, enclosed in an old kiri-box covered in protective kaki-shibu persimmon oil.
