Shamo Chicks prance about, fluffing up their feathers and picking for fallen tidbits among the days catch of beans and fresh bamboo root. The pigment on silk scene is stamped in the right corner with a chop that appears to read Seiryu. It is 82-1/2 x 67-1/2 inches (209 x 171.5 cm) and is in overall fine condition, with faint scattered foxing and a spot of insect damage to the upper green border near the center (see close-up photo). It dates from the Taisho to early Showa eras, 1920 -1935.
