A very rare Aikuchi (Tanto) with reverse blade called a Hanagatana, the blade signed Kei-iku-okina Suzuki Harukuni. It is in a scabbard of light wood carved with an image of the Daruma highlighted with gold lacquer on the end, a fly whisk and Nyoi in antler inlayed on opposite sides of the handle. Where the handle and scabbard meet are two discs of ox-horn. Both ends and the tie are also stag antler. It comes with Hozon papers from the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozonkai (NBTHK)

Suzuki Harukuni came from the lineage of Hokusō Harukuni, studying the art of sword making under Kuroda Takanobu known for his wave patterns. He lived in Osaka and was mentor to many sword smiths of the 19th century.
