Unusual Antique Japanese Oribe Lacquer Covered Dish

A very rare Edo period Oribe pottery lidded dish covered outside with black lacquer with maki-e designs of various patterns (likening to Tsugaru-nuri lacquer-ware) surmounted by three worn gold dial. The circular images are of popular literati themes, a hut in trees, steep mountain vision and geese in flight. Inside plum blossom and chrysanthemum with flashes of Oribe green over pale crackled glaze. The dish is 5-1/2 inches (14 cm) diameter, 2-1/2 inches (6.5 cm) tall. There is a small gold repair to the lip of the lid, and one to the rim of the bowl, with what appears to be some work performed on three of the flowers within.
