| Here we have a fantastic ink/wash portrait by famous American contemporary artist Don Bachardy (b. 1934). Works by Bachardy are highly sought after and the artist has had a large following since the 1960s when he had his first one-man exhibition at the Redfern Gallery, London (1961). Bachardy garnered ever more acclaim after the release of the documentary film "Chris and Don: A Love Story" (2008), which chronicled the relationship between the visual artist and the famous author Christopher Isherwood (1904-1986). The artist's work may found in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, University of California, Los Angeles, the Smithsonian Institute, the National Portrait Gallery, London, and the M. H. de Young Memorial Museum of Art, San Francisco, among many others. Work measures 24 x 18 3/4 inches. Professionally framed as shown, work measures: 32 1/2 x 26 1/2 inches, under glass.
