Korean White Porcelain Bamboo Design Vase
A tall white Korean porcelain vase has a beautifully subtle bamboo pattern that changes under different lighting conditions. The white on white design achieves its definition from the shiny, slightly raised surface of the bamboo seen against a matte background. White Korean porcelain, called "baek-ja," sometimes is mistakenly called white celadon but it does not have the crackled glaze that defines celadon. This sleek, almost stark, vase from the 1990s has a maker's mark on the bottom. It is in perfect condition. Dimensions: height 15" (38 cm), diameter 8" (20 cm).
