Hanoi Girl with Bicycle Watercolor by Pham Luc
Hanoi painter Pham Luc was born in Hue, Vietnam, in 1943 and graduated from the Hanoi College of Fine Arts in 1977. His work is exhibited throughout Europe and Asia. We included his oils, watercolors and sketches in an exhibition at our former Westport, CT, gallery in 1995, and he since has appeared in other shows in the U.S. Pham Luc is among the group of Hanoi painters who attracted the attention of collectors and galleries in Hong Kong and Singapore when foreigners began going back into Vietnam after the war. This large, framed watercolor is pure Pham Luc, who interprets what he sees around him in Hanoi into warm, fleeting impressions. It is signed and dated 1990. The girl with the bicycle is most likely his young daughter who appeared in numerous of his works over many years. The last time we visited the Pham Luc home and studio in Hanoi, his daughter was grown and had herself become a painter. This watercolor is matted, framed and in perfect condition. Dimensions including frame: height 33" (84 cm), width 26" (66 cm). Dimensions of painting only: height 26" (66 cm), width 19" (48 cm). SEE MORE ITEMS IN OUR COLLECTION AT WWW.SILKROAD1.COM
