| Candle holders, carved in East Java of onyx mined from a mountain not far from the shop, have a clean design that emphasizes the natural patterns created by striations in the stone. Produced in the late 1980s, and hopefully still being produced today, such contemporary lines stand in interesting contrast to much Indonesian art, especially that of East Java, where forms typically recall the more ornate style of the Majapahit empire. These pieces are in perfect condition. Dimensions: height 8 ¼” (21 cm), diameter 4” (10.1 cm). | |||||||||
