An Authentic Late-18th to Mid-19th Century French Fireplace Commissioned By Its Original Owner To Be Use in Paris, Which Is Where It Remained Until The Original Home It Was In Raised And This Stunning Piece Was Salvaged and Imported From Paris To Be Displayed and Offered For Sale At The Zep Tepi Gallery Los Angeles By Our Exclusive Partnership with The Top Local Exporter.

This Fireplace Is Truly One Of A Kind, With Its 5 Solid Pieces Cut and Carved From A Single Unique Piece of Rare Blue Marble and Decorated with Extremely Skillfully Executed Carvings That Cover The Face of The Piece.

This Fireplace, Hand-Carved in France in the Late 18th to Mid 19th Century From ONE MASSIVE SINGLE BLOCK Of This Incredibly Rare Variety of Blue Marble, Cut Straight From The Quarry In A Single Piece That Would Have Weighed Several Tons, Hand Picked by the Sculptor, and Shown on the Rear Side of The 3 Huge Pieces Cut From The Block For Each Leg and the Mantle by Leaving The Rear Side Uncovered and Showing The Original Open Quarry Wall Texture and Showing The Seamless Design On Each Section Which Left No Room For Error By Carving The Designs Into The Face Of The Solid Marble Leg, Instead of The Much More Common and Much Less Expensive Way of Making Such A Piece By Carving From A Thin Facade Placed Onto The Face of Much Smaller Pre-Cut Marble Blocks. Two Additional Smaller Pieces Were Cut For The Feet Which Are Placed Beneath Each Leg To Raise The Height About 6 Inches (For A Smaller Home The Feet Could Be Left Off And The Fireplace Can Stand On The Legs Alone). The Absolutely Exquisite, and ONE-OF-A-KIND BLUE MARBLE- Possibly a Form of Bleu Turquin Marble, Is The Only Piece Of Any Type We Could Find With the Secondary Color, White In This Case, Spread Thru Stone In Cloud-Like Patterns, Instead of Veins.
