I saved this Scottish brooch for a holiday listing. It is extraordinary in its artistry and in its execution. It is one of the earliest I have owned,circa 1830. The central crystal is set foil back in a repousse bezel. The use of foil beneath the stone was used to bring light and color, as it was closed in the back. This technique attributes a mellow hue of pale yellow with hints of pink.
