This antique gold necklace is circa 1860. It is designed in the Etruscan Revival manner. The archeological excavations at Pompeii and Herculeum unearthed treasures, and brought with it renewed interest in the stunning Etruscan gold work. The term of Etruscan Revival was used to define this period, and famous jewelers such as Castellani, tried to emulate the designs and craftsmanship. This necklace is classical in inspiration, and perhaps one of the finest in execution that I have ever had the p ...click for details

This incredibly beautiful diamond pendant is English, circa 1840. It is backed in a pale rose gold, and studded with diamonds set in silver. The gold work is superior, and the reverse is gently curved to ensure it lays beautifully on the neck. The diamonds are exceptionally fine quality old mine cuts. The dot seen in some of the photos is the characteristic "black" dot which is the culet of early mine cut stones, as the facets join at the bottom and terminate with a flat cut. This unusual Victorian silver bangle bracelet is circa 1880. The buckle motif was very popular during this period and this example is detailed and bold. The distinguishing feature is not only the buckle, but the "rippling" design of the strap. The hand engraving is well done and the bracelet opens with a concealed, secure push clasp. The reverse is unadorned as was typically done in Victorian bangles. It measures approximately, 7 1/2 inches around x 1 1/8 inches wide and would comfort ...click for details

These earrings are circa 1800 simply designed with early mine cut diamonds set in crimped rub over collets. The ear wires are a lovely pale rose gold and the rest of the earring is set in silver. The top section is a small flower head set with tiny diamonds in the petals and centered with a small diamond. Typical of the period, the diamonds have a gray hue reflecting hints of gold as they were set with foil behind each stone. This was done to reflect light as stones were set closed in the back ...click for details

These earrings are most unusual in their motif. They are Scottish, circa 1880, and are rendered in 15k gold. They are designed as a traditional Tara form more often found on brooches of this period. They have a magnificent ,original gold patina and are in excellent condition. The gold work is superior with beautiful applied wire work. They measure 1 3/8 long from the top wire x 7/8 across. They are the perfect size for everyday wear and are ideal to accompany most antique design periods as wel ...click for details

This antique Victorian Scottish bracelet is circa 1860. My love of Scottish jewelry is evident. Perhaps it is because the value is in the design and craftsmanship, rather than in the materials. Here is one of the finest examples of this art form. It has a large, bold central element designed as a flower head, centered with a faceted amethyst. The colors of the agates are in total contrast with the amethyst, making it quite striking. The agates themselves have the full range of color indigenous t ...click for details

These especially beautiful antique French aquamarine and diamond earrings, are circa 1900. The 18k gold work is superior as expected of French jewelers, with a patina that is rich and original. The faceted aquamarines are a mellow sea blue and the diamonds very white with an old European cut. There are a total of 4 carats (2 each earring) of aqua and 1.30 carats of bright white diamonds. The earrings are completely original including the back to front ear wires. The ear wires have the French po ...click for details

This elegant gold, rock crystal heart locket is English, circa 1880. The large and bulbous rock crystals are beautifully cut by a lapidary and set in substantial gold bezels. The heart, which articulates, has a gold bow surmount set with natural pearls. It is also a locket that could house a photo or a lock of hair, as the back has a removable bezel. I personally prefer it worn as seen. The rock crystal is substantial and the cabachon cut reflects light and seems to illuminate with every moveme ...click for details

This ring is most unique. I have never in over 25 years of collecting come across a gold Scottish agate eternity ring. This example, rendered in 9k, has fine engraving work and the gold work itself is superior.

The ring, a work of art, is scalloped in design and fitted with shaped cabachon agates. The agates well chosen for color include bloodstone, mauve, mustard and jasper hues. It is classical in inspiration and ...click for details

This cuff bracelet is English, circa 1880. It is more unusual than most, having fine pierced work creating vines, leaves and flowers. The use of multi- colored gold used with silver, became popular when the art of Japan was widely introduced in Europe. Commodore Perry credited with bringing about a trade agreement with Japan also opened the world to Japanese art and culture. In this example the pierced silver work is superb as is the hand engraving. The open work adds not only light, but looks ...click for details
