Uniquely dramatic, this rock crystal pendant is exciting. It is designed with an oval rock crystal, faceted around the edges and dished in the center. A beetle that is set with small rose diamonds, a large faceted citrine ,tourmaline and garnets is attached to the center of the crystal with rivets. The crystal appears to float on the skin, as the pendant has been designed with a gold bezel that is invisible from the front and connects to a simple gold bale. The bug is beautifully rendered and th ...click for details

This lorgnette, is silver designed with the process of Niello. This process was used for centuries, but had renewed interest in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. According to the book Victorian Jewelry by Dawes and Davidov, "niello is a process in which a fusion of silver, copper, lead and sulphur is melted and poured on silver." The process creates patterns in geometric designs favored in France or swirling intricate patterns often found in Russian jewelry of the period. ...click for details

Strikingly beautiful, these faceted rock crystal earrings are French, circa 1900. They are designed in two sections, a top section of faceted rock crystals joining a finely faceted briolette cut bottom. The top of each drop has a faceted ruby set in a crimped open back collet and an engraved mount. The wires retain a French eagle's head for 18k gold. They measure a bold 2 1/2 inches from the top of the wire x 1/2 inch across the bottom drop. The condition is excellent. The crystals brillian ...click for details

This form of Scottish brooch is among my favorite. It is called a penannular, or split ring. Used for centuries to secure garments, this brooch appears strikingly modern in its sleek, simple design. It is rendered in 12k gold and set with beautifully chosen agates cut en cabachon. The top is a citrine, finely cut in the form of the native flower of Scotland, the thistle. The other two stones are faceted crystals that are collet set and foil back to reflect the light. ...click for details

This Art Deco designed ring is striking yet quite refined. The setting is an octagon accented with side baguettes and centered with an early brilliant cut diamond. The very white central stone is .50cts and GH/SI. The perimeter diamonds are Old European cuts and are .10cts each GH/VS. They too are very white and have excellent clarity. The six baguettes, gently curved in their settings continue the geometry created in the design of this ring. They six baguettes are .05 carats GH/VS. The total d ...click for details
