This Victorian sterling locket is circa 1880. It is very simple in design bearing an asymmetrical strap and buckle motif. This motif was very popular during this period in keeping with Queen Victoria's Order Of The Garter. It appeared on bracelets, brooches and earrings. It is a wearable size, 2 1/8 inches long with the bail x 1 1/4 inches across. The locket alone without the bail is 1 5/8 inches long. It opens to reveal the original glass, bezels and photos. A personal photo could easily replace those that are present.

The condition is excellent and it opens and closes securely. Wear it with the soft black ultra-suede cord provided or join it with a silver chain of choice.

Classical and charming. England circa 1880
