Edwardian Platinum Pearl Diamond Bracelet
OUT OF INVENTORY

This bracelet is Edwardian, circa 1900. It is designed with platinum , diamonds and pearls to gives an incredible lace like- appearance. It has beautifully matched natural pearls interspersed with finely twisted platinum wire. This work is all done by hand. The pearls are assumed to be natural by appearance and by date, but have not been tested.

The bracelet has platinum supports and the reverse to give proper draping on the wrist. It is so ingeniously designed that these supports are visible only on the back and not when worn. The bracelet lays so beautifully, that it feels like a drape of fabric on the wrist. It terminates with an invisible sliding clasp. Sixteen single cut 2pt. diamonds completes this very elegant and understated bracelet.

This period of design witnessed some of the finest craftsmanship of jewelry. Unlike the Victorian period which used yellow gold, the use of platinum enabled designs that had a lighter, finely detailed appearance. Platinum is intrinsically strong, and fine wire work now was within the realm of possibility, without sacrificing durability. It became the metal of choice in the Art Deco period. .

The bracelet measures 7 1/4 inches long X 1 1/4 inches wide. Excellent condition.
