During the Georgian period, the topaz gemstone was a scarce and precious stone reserved for the royals and the aristocracy. Rare with an indescribable allure, the stone has shades of gold, yellow and of course the distinctive, pale pink hue.

This pendant is designed with foil backed topaz set in 15k hand crimped cut down settings. The gold work is superb and executed with precision. The stones are each hand set, and foil backed. Each stone has the beautiful, subtle variation of color and that ever present desirable pale pink hue.

The pendant/brooch measures 11/2 long X 1 3/8 across. It can be worn with a gold chain, a ribbon or cord. Historically, these pendants were worn close to the neck secured with decorative ribbons.

The condition is excellent and the beauty timeless. Quite rare, England ,circa 1800
