This Scottish agate sterling bracelet is among the finest I have offered for sale. It is the only one I have ever seen with this design and detail. It has alternating links of agates inlaid and engraved forming a flower head. They alternate with links designed with four shaped agates that are centered with a bezel set cairngorm. The colors of the stones are so mellow and artistically placed. This was certainly the hand work of a gifted lapidary that labored many, many hours to complete this work of art. The hand engraving too is testimony of a gifted artisan . The reverse indicates that each alternating link had the stones set on a backing of granite. It closes with a secure, concealed integral clasp.
It measures 7 5/8 inches long X 1 inch wide. The condition is excellent.
Museum worthy and beautiful, Scotland, circa 1860.
