This usual gold,crystal locket is french, circa 1890. It is cleverly shaped like a vase filled with "flowers." The bezel has fine 18k gold pierced work of buds and vines, It has a French gold guarantee mark. on the screw mechanism. This locket unscrews at the top and two faceted glass panels separate. The fried flowers, original to the locket, can be removed if desired. It is so sentimental ,carrying forth love from over 100 years ago. Retain the flowers, or seal your own memories. Condition is excellent. It measures 1 5/8th's from the top bale X slightly larger than 1 inch across the top. France, circa 1890 |
