I just returned from Paris, where this amazing Art Nouveau vermeil chain was purchased. It is dramatic, long and beautifully designed. It is silver, with French guarantee stamps (poincons) on the O rings. The chain has an original vermeil finish, which is a gold wash on the silver giving this chain a beautiful patina. The chain is finely finished as expected of French jewelry and craftsmanship. It measures a long 54 inches X 1/4 inch wide and has the original dog clip to attach a pendant of choice. it can also be wrapped around the neck several times, or worn long. It is a desirable length and certainly the Art Nouveau links set this apart from any others. Excellent, all original condition. France, circa 1890 |
