This opulent topaz and 15k gold ring Is Georgian, circa 1830. It has a central foil back topaz set in hand crimped collets framed with a beautiful chased, repousse border. The shank is a perfect complement to the central element, and it too is finely rendered. The topaz is faceted and foiled with a pale pink giving the stone a unique and beautiful hue. The ring is a size US 10 and can be sized. Originally designed as a man's ring, it is dramatic worn on an index or middle finger for a woman. The condition is excellent with only a tiny edge chip near a prong seen under magnification. The gold work is superb and the stone bright with flashes of honey and pink hues. The underside has three engraved initials. England, circa 1830 |
