This double sided, antique French compass is circa 1890. It is designed with gold links resembling nautical rope knots. It has original beveled glass on both sides and the compass is functioning with the needle moving freely.
The gold has a rich, original patina and is finely finished. It has French guarantee stamps, or poincon's on the top loop, and is in excellent condition.
It is a wonderful gift for a loved one. Symbolically, "This can always guide you back home."
It measures 1 3/8 inches from the top loop X 1 1/8 inches across. It weighs 2.8 grams.
This would be charming worn on a cord, or chain.
