| This snake brooch is circa 1890 and is crafted in 18k gold and sterling. There are touchmarks for both silver and gold a, as well as a maker's mark. It is interesting to note that this pin has a sterling front and an 18k back. The maker evidently believed that the use of silver in the front, created a more realistic rendering. It has substantial weight of 12 dwt. and is all original. The clasp is extremely secure and the condition excellent. It measures 1 7/8th inches across x 1 1/4 inches down. | |||||||
