How lovely to find an 18th century Georgian sapphire ring in Paris. The ring is hand made and as expected, finely rendered and smooth to the touch. It has a central dark blue sapphire set in a gold rub over collet, with a perimeter of naive rose cut and table cut diamonds. The diamonds are gray and set in silver hand crimped rub over collets. They are the perfect foil for the color of the sapphire. All stones are set closed back, typical of the period. On each side of the central element are tiny rose cut diamonds set in a collet that forms a flower head. The shank is beautifully designed with a vine and leaves connecting to each flower head.
The setting is 18 karat gold and the condition is superb. It is a size 6.5 US. and a work of art.
