| This 15k Georgian garnet brooch is circa 1820. It is rarer in form having a beautiful vitreous enamel panel topped with a gold collet set garnet. The perimeter of the brooch has foiled back flat cut garnets with faceted edges. The garnets are almondine with a beautiful hue, and set in hand crimped gold mounts. The pearls are all natural and well matched for color. The reverse has all original mounts and a secure C-clasp. These small Georgian brooches were quite laborious and required a skilled hand. The brooch measures 1 inch across and 3/4 inches down. The condition is remarkable. There is a tiny ding on the reverse with nothing else of note. It is elegant worn alone on a collar or sweater, or clustered with other similar Georgian pins. Truly a small treasure. | |||||||||
