Antique Scottish Agate Bracelet

This Scottish agate silver bracelet is Victorian, circa 1860. It has an unusual design utilizing beautifully chosen agates joined with silver links. The links are skillfully engraved, matching the central buckle motif. The bracelet, designed as a buckle/strap adjusts to accommodate various wrist sizes. There is a plunger on the buckle which when lifted opens the bracelet, and when pressed locks it in place. The end of the bracelet is decorated with two tear shaped tassels also finely engraved.

In every period of design there are elements separating the mundane from the unique. In this bracelet,it is both the fine detailing and the design. It is completely original and in excellent condition. It measures, when opened flat 9 3/4 inches without the tassels x 7/8 wide. The central buckle is 1 3/8 wide.

It would be beautiful worn with any Scottish brooch or Victorian silver jewelry.
