| This ring is English, circa 1900. It is silver, designed with a floral motif surrounding a natural central cabachon star sapphire. The floral motif is hand rendered using gold and silver. The bezel set cabachon rubies provide a rich color contrast with the star sapphire. Typical of the Arts and Crafts Movement, the stones have a beautiful color play and the use of mixed metals add visual interest. The purple/blue sapphire shows the natural star at certain angles, and when the light passes through the stone. There are a few small natural inclusions in the sapphire. The central element measures 11 mm. The ring measures 6 3/4 USA. It is beautiful as well as unique, circa 1900. It is in excellent,original condition. | ||||||||||||
