Bold Arts And Crafts Jeweled Crystal Pendant

This rock crystal pendant is English, circa 1900. It was created during the Arts and Crafts Period and is a fine example. Typical of this period of design , the work was done by hand and each piece had a stamp of originality. This pendant is designed as a silver flower pot, finely engraved and filled with flowers of chrysoprase and chalcedony. The back has fine silver work and engraving, but is void of the jewels. The flower pot was then placed in a "pool of light", a beautifully faceted rock crystal. The crystal reflects light with every turn and the total effect is glorious. The bale is original and engraved as well.

The pendant with the bale, measures a bold 3 inches long x 1 1/2 inches across. What cannot be seen in the pictures is the beautiful proportion of the depth, which is 1/2 inch.

The pendant is suspended from a black cord, but could be worn with a silver chain as well. It is in excellent, original condition and one of a kind. An English treasure, circa 1900.
