| These beautiful French gold garnet earrings are called Perpignan garnets from the region in France where they were made. The garnets form a flower and are faceted like rose cuts,foiled and set in simple cut down collets. The color of the garnets are unique to the region and have a rich hue that varies from wine to rose pink as the light reflects on the stone. Quite beautiful and simple in design, they date from the Georgian period. The gold is 18k with a French guarantee stamp on the back wire. The earrings are back to front and in excellent,original condition. They are small in scale, measuring 3/4 inches from the top of the wire x 5/8 across. They are the perfect size for day or evening wear. They are uniquely beautiful, circa 1830. | ||||||||||
