| Wonderful set of five European portrait miniatures; period 18th century but framed together in a 20th century frame. The center portrait is the largest, measuring 2 1/2" x 2 1/2", and is an oil on canvas. The four surrounding portraits each measure 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" and are watercolors which look to be on ivory. The surrounding portraits are each signed with the monogram "FL"; the center portrait may be signed, but I am unable to make anything out distinctly. I do not believe it to be by the same hand as the others. In very good overall condition; the watercolors are in excellent condition, but the oil on canvas has overall craquelare as well as some flakes to the paint. The 20th century frame is falling apart a bit; the individual miniatures are still securely framed, but the glass cover of the frame has come loose, along with the trim holding it in place.
