Great 4 1/4" square glazed pottery trays by Gordon and Jane Martz for Marshall Studios, circa 1960s. One in matte brown glaze with sgraffito spiral design, the other in translucent green glossy glaze with slight iridescence. Gordon and Jane Martz joined Marshall Studios in Veedersburg, Indiana in 1951, and for three decades created pottery designs with a simple, modern, yet utilitarian aesthetic; their lamp design 101 winning a MOMA Good Design award in 1953.
This pair of trays in excellent condition; one retains Marshall Studios original paper label, both are signed Martz. |
