| Wonderful 2" x 1 3/4" watercolor on ivory portrait miniature of Charlotte von Hagn (1809-1891) after the well known 1828 oil portrait by Joseph Stieler (1781-1858). This example contemporary to Stieler's piece, circa 1840, and is faintly signed "Stieler" along the left edge. It is possible that this is a signature of Stieler himself, but as I cannot confirm this, I am selling it as "after Stieler". In original ivory frame measuring 3 1/2" x 3", some splits to the ivory in the upper and lower middle sections; otherwise excellent original condition with unopened backing. | ||
