A chinese cinnabar lacquer box well carved with a scene of a sage with 2 boys in a garden with rocks and trees. Dating from the C19th., it measures 3 3/4inches (9.6 cms) min across. There are a couple of secure seam splits where the top and the base join the sides. There is a crack to the inner rim of base and a small retouch to the base rim. (See photos) |
