CHINESE YIXING STONEWARE POTTERY TEAPOT & CALLIGRAPHY
A well potted Yixing teapot of plain, urn shape form with deeply engraved calligraphy on one side and a 4 character mark impressed to the base. It is hand built and there are signs of a vertical luting line to the interior just by the handle. This is typical of Yixing teapots which are built from flat sheets of clay and not thrown on a wheel.

I am not sure as to date, but am guessing c.1900. It measures 7 1/4inches (18.4 cms) from tips of spout and handle.

It is in good condition, but missing its lid.
