A chinese export silver bowl finely decorated with floral panels amongst "shou" characters. It is skilfully reticulated and repoussed. It would probably originally had a glass liner which is fitted in by removal of the rim(see photos). Dating from c1900, it measures 7 7/8inches 9 (20 cm) across.It weighs 250gms There are some very minor dents and one very small area of damage to the repousse work but no losses so restoration would be simple (see photo 9). |
