A chinese carved wooden figure of a deity or temple guardian decorated in black ang gold leaf with red base colour showing through . I find these objects very difficult to date but I guarantee it is no later than C18th and is probably Ming . It stands 8 1/4ins high . There are losses to the right hand and left foot . I have not tried to clean him . A beautiful cultural object . |
