An English soapstone porcelain cup and saucer from the Caughley factory decorated with underglaze blue bands and gilt.It has an underglaze blue factory mark "s" to each piece. Dating from the last quarter of the C18th., the saucer is 5 1/4inches across and the cup 2 1/2inches diameter( not inc. handle). There is a small chip inside the footrim of the cup, an extended firing fault to the saucer and some wear to the gilding. |
