An unusual pepper pot/ shaker made from a dutch decorated chinese vase mounted with hallmarked english silver. The porcelain dates from the Kangxi period (1663-1723) and the silver bears the London hallmark for the year 1896. There is minor wear and the hallmarks are rubbed.There is an original bubble burst in the glaze just below the collar (See photo 6). It is in very good condition. |
