An English "deceptive" glass, so-called due to the thick walls of the bowl which give the optical illusion of an ordinary glass full when the there is very little contents. The drinker can drink more glasses without intoxication. The bowl is cut with roundels and the pontil is ground. Dating from the mid C19th., it measures 4 inches (10.3 cms) high. It is in good condition. |
