A Chinese porcelain water pot for the scholars table decorated in a rich cobalt blue monochrome glaze. The interior and base are glazed white, the base with a double ring in underglaze blue. Dating from c.1900, it measures 2 3/8inches (6.1 cms) across.There is kiln grit to the base and 2 firing faults to the rim from one of which issues a faint hairline crack. (See photos). |
