| This is a fabulous pair of 18k yellow gold, steel and diamond cufflinks by Fred of Paris from the "Force 10" collection, c. 1980. Fred Samuel opened his first boutique in Paris in 1936 and international stars (such as Marlene Dietrich) became fans of the style and quality of his jewelry. His success spread rapidly from Paris to the rest of the world. With his “Force 10” collection, Fred became one of the first high-end jewelers to combine precious metals with industrial materials, like steel. The cufflinks are in excellent condition, weigh 15.8 grams and each cufflink is set with two diamonds (total diamond weight approximately .2 carat). They measure 11/16” x 1/2” and are signed "Fred Paris", "Force 10", "750" (i.e. 18k gold). | |||||||
