For sale is this fabulous antique Japanese Meiji period Satsuma vase signed Undenzan or Unzan. This is a magnificent and finely painted vase depicting a ceremonial procession of women, men and children with a woman leading the procession with two children by her side and a man holding a large umbrella over her head. The detailing to their faces and robes is wonderful as is the extremely fine wash of gold dots to the background. The floral patterning to the shoulder of the vase is expertly done and awash with gilt outlining. A wonderful piece of art in exceptional condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. The only thing I could find was a tiny blob of white enamel to the head of one of the ladies done in the making. This lovely vase measures 18cm tall by approx. 10cm across the widest part.
