A quality vintage silver, enamel, opal and marcasite lidded cut glass powder bowl, maker Henry Clifford Davis Birmingham. The gorgeous smoky grey/blue opal sits beautifully against the shimmering white guilloche enamel which radiates out from the centre of the lid. The opal has tiered sections of marcasites to each side in an Empire/Art Deco type design. Condition is very good with just a little wear to the enamel to the top edge in places. The cut glass base has no chips or cracks and just a little age related scuffing to the base. The silver lid sits firmly onto the lip of the glass base with no looseness and has no dings or bumps. The interior of the lid is pale gilt washed and there is a makers mark to the side of the lid. I am unable to read the date letter as it is rubbed. The bowl measures 9.8cm in diameter, the lid measures 9.2cm in diameter and the whole pieces measures 4.2cm tall.
