A very good quality antique Chinese carved ivory parasol handle complete with net lace covered shade. The handle consists of a well carved dragons head tapering to an ornately carved stick section depicting dragons, foliage, birds and butterflies which joins to the shade section and is held in place by a metal collar. The lining of the shade is intact and robust, however the net lace covering is starting to tear quite badly in places. I feel this could be quite easily replaced with something similar to make this a wonderful accessory once again.
The parasol measures 90cm long and when open, it measures 80cm in diameter. The handle section can be separated from the shade section allowing for ease of shipping. The shade lining is double layered, is off white in colour and looks to be fine cotton with a sheen to it. The whole parasol looks to be handstitched. There are ivory spokes and an ivory tip.
