| Two drawings - "Fermer Embrasser" (Close Embrace) and "Les Coulisses" (Backstage) paper and pastel, signed by Edouard Chimot (1890 - 1930) at bottom - without frames. Dimensions: 7.55" X 5" each. Chimot studied at t the École des Arts décoratifs in Nice and at the Beaux-Arts, Lille. These strong pieces are striking examples of his famous haunting and compelling drawings of “jeunes et jolies femmes". The similar work, "Danseuse Nu" Lot # 727 at Treadway and Toomy in Illinois sold for $1,600 on September 14th, 2008. | |||||||||||||
