|“Marines à l'Aube “ (Sea at Dawn) oil on canvas laid down on board, signed lower left by Hermine Henriette Gudin (1825 – 1867). Dimensions: 5.5” X 8.5”. Classic Gudin Masterpiece conveys her unique style and ability to portray the feel of the moment and the sea. The talented and accomplished French artist Ms. Gudin studied under her father, Théodore Gudin. She exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1849, 1850, and 1853. Provenance: This painting was exhibited at the Casa del Sol Museum in Los Angeles, California in 1940 and came from the Kinenid-White Estate (see photo of label on back.
