| This fine Japanese nihonto katana displays remarkable craftsmanship, the Master swordsmith artistry and signature (see photo) of Geishu Ju Fuyu-Hiro of the early Edo (Shinto) period (1603 1868 CE), second son of Jakushu Fuyu-Hiro, from the area around Hiroshima. Made circa mid 1600s. Dimensions: Nagasa: 26.500, Nakago: 8.875, Mihaba at Ha-machi: 1.188, Sakihaba: .875, Kisane at Ha-machi: .250, Kisane at Kissaki: .188, Sori: .750. Forging Pattern: Itame (wood grain). Tempering Pattern: Toran-midare (waves). Tsuka (handle) 9.750 includes: gold Ito (broken in one place), two flower Menuki, shark/ray skin. Flower pattern Fuchi and stud. Flower pattern Tsuba 2.625 X 2.250, and Flower pattern Kabuto-gane (butt). 20th Century leather Miltary Saya (scabbard). Condition: blade is sharp, needs polish, tang displays beautiful brown rust patina.
