| Oil on board painting, titled “Kornhamnstorg” (verso), signed and dated lower right, “Oscarsson 24”. Dimensions: 14.75” X 14.75” with frame, 8.75” X 8” without. This Oscarsson impressionist vision, created in 1924, displays the famous Kornhamnstorg Square in Old Town, Stockholm, Sweden (created after the great fire of 1625) featuring the harbor in the foreground and the iconic Tyska Church spire along the skyline. The brilliant Swedish artist, Bernhard Oscarsson, born in, Södermanland, studied at Caleb Althin Art School and the Art Academy in Stockholm. While honing his unique style, Oscarsson traveled extensively throughout Spain, Italy, France, Holland and Germany. Most famous for his uban images of the Stockholm area, he also painted portraits, nudes, landscape genre and coastal motifs. Oscarsson works can be viewed at the Eskilstuna Museum in Sweden, as well as the Cultural History Museum in Sophia, Bulgaria.
