| This is an elegant antique cut glass art deco knife rest in a hexagonal column or pillar shape with stepped ends. The knife rest or knife holder measures 1.25 inches high by 4 inches long by 1.25 inches wide and was made 1920-1930s. It is part of a large estate knife rest collection I acquired in England recently. This neat knife rest is in excellent condition. Knife rests were a wonderful invention very popular with Victorian homemakers as a way to decorate a table and keep the used knives from dirtying the tablecloth.
