Classic Olmec los Bocas figure. 1200 B.C.E. -500 B.C.E. this excellently crafted figure has faint traces of red pigment with mineral deposits. He (no breasts, or sexual elements) is wearing a helmet or headdress, with what appears to be some form of jewelry over his nose or upper lip. this piece is all intact with no visible repairs, small amount of normal chipping around nose and feet. Many years ago I put this piece into auction with Arte Primitivo. Fortunately for both you and I it did not bring the reserve.
